I'm Bruno Jaamaa, a software engineer and university student, studying Computing and UI/UX (Bachelor of Design) at the University of Melbourne. I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, and due to graduate in November 2026.[1]

I'm Technical Lead at JJ Marine, a yacht and boat dealership in Dubai, where I automate the work the business runs on: an enquiry pipeline that validates and routes every website enquiry, content drafted only from facts in the company's database, and an internal assistant over its own knowledge base, with a person approving before anything goes out.[2] I'm also Technical Officer, Projects at Startup Link, the University of Melbourne's student startup programme, where I lead a student engineering team that built a healthcare startup's admin portal and CRM, with lead intake and doctor onboarding automated.[3][4] Under NDA I built Atlas, the internal systems a logistics company still runs its operations on.[5]

For my own work I keep a small internal tool, Control Plane. It syncs my calendar and email, keeps my tasks and notes in one place, measures my own output (active hours from my Claude usage, tasks done, commits and lessons, with a simple score) and runs small agents that draft and propose work, which I approve before anything goes out. It is where I try patterns like approval before sending, search with cited sources and safe retries before I use them in client systems.[6]

Each of these has its own case study, with how it works and a diagram where there is one: JJ Marine, the healthcare startup's admin portal and CRM, Atlas and Control Plane. Every system, grouped by capability, is on Engineering.[7]

Stack: TypeScript and Python, Next.js, React, Postgres (Supabase, row level security, pgvector), Vercel functions and cron, the Claude API and Agent SDK, MCP, zod, Vitest, Playwright, Swift and SwiftUI.[7]

I've been Technical Lead at JJ Marine since 2024. It's a yacht and boat dealership in Dubai that sells and charters boats, and an official Jeanneau dealer.[2][8] The first phase was the website: each of its 48 boats is a database row that generates its own page, in English, Arabic, Russian and French.[2]

The current phase is AI systems for the business: an enquiry pipeline that validates every website enquiry and routes it to one place, written content drafted only from facts in the database, and an internal assistant that answers from the company's own knowledge base and runs tasks with human approval. The public website has no chatbot.[2]

Client work

Through Startup Link I lead a student engineering team for a healthcare marketplace startup that connects locum doctors with hospitals. I upgraded the company's admin portal and CRM into a single system and built the version currently in use, with automation for lead intake and locum doctor onboarding and a connector layer to the other applications they already run.[4]

Under NDA I built Atlas, the internal systems and tooling a logistics company still runs its operations on, alone and in eight weeks: live data feeds in place of a once-a-day spreadsheet update, role-based access for three roles, and a weekly report that is assembled and sent on a schedule instead of by hand every Monday.[5] I also built Rock Purple, the launch website for a Finnish artist's debut album, and was one of the front-end developers on Yunmakai.[9][10]

Products

I founded Sentinel, an AI news app for iOS and the web, released on the App Store in March 2026. A topic became a report with an event timeline, charts and a section on what the coverage was missing. By my own account revenue peaked at roughly $1k a month. In September 2026 I paused its news sources for a full revamp of its systems, simplifying the product before a planned restart later in 2026.[12][13]

I cofounded PokeAI, an iOS app that identified a trading card from the camera and showed its prices; I built the app, its design system and the payments. It was discontinued in 2026.[14] I founded Aethereum, a coordination layer for AI coding agents built on one append-only ledger per room, with 29 MCP tools; it is discontinued for now, because the model providers now cover cross-agent communication themselves.[15][16]

Open-source software

ccline is a statusline toolkit for Claude Code built so that it never exits with an error.[17] mcpaudit is a linter for Model Context Protocol servers.[18] distillation fine-tunes a small model on labels from a large one: 0.840 macro-F1 against 0.337 for a keyword filter on 500 held-out headlines (about two and a half times), with both scores measured against the teacher model's labels, not people's.[19] My website, BR95, is a Windows 95 style desktop where every window is a server-rendered URL.[20]

Integrations

For the healthcare startup I built a connector layer between its CRM and the applications it already runs.[4] Control Plane syncs Google Calendar both ways, every 15 minutes and on push notifications, with an echo guard that drops the changes it made itself, and reads Gmail through a read-only scope.[6] Systems also talk over webhooks: JJ Marine's enquiry form posts each lead to Control Plane's webhook.[2]

Data and auth

Control Plane runs on Postgres with row level security forced on every table and owner-only policies.[6] At JJ Marine the public enquiry form gets an insert-only key, so it can add a lead but read nothing back.[2]

LLM features with guardrails

The agent in Control Plane has tools whose inputs are checked against a schema, and anything it would write comes back as a proposal that runs only after I approve it.[6] At JJ Marine drafts are written only from facts in the database, and a draft with a blocked claim is rejected.[2]

Reliability

Control Plane's ingest ignores duplicates by lead id, so a retry can never file a lead twice. Its scheduled jobs record every run, and a public status endpoint reports totals only.[6]

Evals and tests

distillation scores 0.840 macro-F1 against 0.337 for a keyword filter on 500 held-out headlines, both against the teacher model's labels.[19] ccline's self-test proves 25 of 25 checks can fail.[17]

Education

I started a Bachelor of Design in Computing and UX Design at the University of Melbourne in 2023, with coursework in systems programming, algorithms and data structures, databases and models of computation.[1] I have three hackathon results: 1st at Melbourne Hack, 4th at FoundersHack, and 5th of 183 at UNIHACK 2026, where my team built SpeechMAX.[21]

Personal life

I'm Finnish and grew up in Dubai, and I built my first computer when I was 11. Outside work I model and render 3D scenes in Blender as a hobby.[22]
